Jay "Yega" Few

Jay "Yega" Few, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away on January 12, 2025, at the age of 63. Born and raised in East Nashville, Tennessee, Jay was a true son of the city and a legend to many who had the honor of knowing him. Jay's life was defined by his unwavering love for his family. He was a devoted husband and life partner to Lisa, sharing a deep love with nearly four decades of laughter, companionship, and treasured memories. Jay was a proud alumnus of Stratford High School, where he played football and made lifelong friends. Many of his closest friendships were formed during these years, and he cherished the bonds he shared with his high school teammates and classmates. Jay proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he demonstrated dedication and commitment to duty. After 32 years of dedicated service, Jay retired from the U.S. Postal Service. During his time there, he built many lifelong friendships and earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His sense of humor and kind spirit made him a joy to work with, and his impact on those around him will not be forgotten. Jay was a man of faith who shared his beliefs with his wife, Lisa. Together, they found strength and comfort in their shared spirituality. Jay is now rejoicing in heaven, reunited with his loved ones and enveloped in eternal peace. Known for his big heart, sense of humor, and infectious smile, Jay formed lifelong friendships that stood the test of time. To those who knew him, he was more than a friend; he was family. His roots in East Nashville were deep, and his impact on the community will be felt for generations to come. Jay "Yega" Few will be remembered for the love he gave, the laughter he brought, and the legacy he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Jay was preceded in death by his father, James Carl Few, Sr., and his brother, Wayne Few. Jay leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his cherished family: his wife of 39 years and best friend, Lisa Few, his son, Jacob Few, and daughter-in-law, Lexi Few, his granddaughter, Hailey Grace Few, who was the light of his life and whom he loved beyond measure. Jay is also survived by his mother, Ethel Marie Few, and his brother, Gary Few, along with Gary's wife, Debbie. Jay's circle of love extended to countless friends from East Nashville and beyond, many of whom remained steadfast companions throughout the years. A celebration of Jay's life will be held at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home in East Nashville on January 25th from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. The celebration will be catered with gratitude to Jeff Roy of the legendary Roy's Meat Service, along with Jeff Roy's sisters and a close friend. This will be an informal gathering, allowing family and friends to stop by at their convenience to share memories, stories, and celebrate Jay's life.
