Paul Alan Norman

Paul Alan Norman, 52, of Hermitage passed away May 6, 2023. Paul was a song-leader and Elder at Central Pike Church of Christ, his church home of many years. He was very involved in many church activities including volunteer work, youth activity and mission work. Paul graduated from Freed-Hardeman University with a Bachelor of Science in 1992. He loved his family and enjoyed family singings, hiking and the outdoors. There were many game nights with his family. Paul will be remembered as a gentle, kind, easy-going, and quiet man. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Paul is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alan Dare Norman, Willie Margaret Ray Norman, Kenneth K. Campbell, and Dorris M. Campbell. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Michelle Walden Norman; Parents, Alton and Sharyn Norman; Sons, Micah Norman and Eli Norman; Siblings, Matthew (Brandy) Norman and Amy (Mat) Brewster; Nephew, Alex Norman; and Niece, Lydia Brewster. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11th from 5pm until his funeral service at 7pm at Central Pike Church of Christ, 4240 Central Pike, Hermitage, TN 37076. Burial will precede services at 10am, Thursday If preferred, you may make a donation to Central Pike Church of Christ in Paul’s name. Paul will have a natural burial. The burial service will take place at 10am on Thursday at Larkspur Conservation at Taylor Hollow, 155 Bear Carr Rd, Westmoreland, TN 37186 What to expect at a natural burial: Dress for an outdoor hike and wear appropriate shoes. Use the restroom before you arrive, there is no public toilet or running water. Carpool to Larkspur - parking is limited. Plan to arrive 15 minutes ahead of time. Family and friends will be welcomed at the trailhead by Larkspur staff and volunteers. The casket or body will be in place at the graveside prior to the arrival of family and friends. Family and friends will hike up the hill into the nature preserve for the burial ceremony. Words are shared and the casket or body is lowered into the grave by family and friends. With guidance, the family and friends shovel soil into the grave until it is closed. Hike away from the graveside and return to your vehicle or explore the preserve. Leave no trash behind. Cut flowers are welcome.
