Leesa Fields

Leesa Morrison Fields (07/07/1955-12/12/2023) Leesa passed peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dale “Sheep” Fields, daughter Rachel, son Matthew (Kelly), grandsons Cooper and Campbell, sisters Sue (Ray) Handisides, Sally (Dick) Giberti and Carol (Greg) Thompson, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick (Fritz) and Charlene Morrison. Born in Miami, Oklahoma, she was the third of four girls. After graduating from John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she moved to Tennessee with her best friend, Karen (Mahoney) Coles where she met the love of her life Dale. After marrying in August 1978, they settled in Nashville, where they soon welcomed their two kids Rachel and Matt. Active in both Girl Scouts and the church, Leesa was very involved in her community. She was the troop leader for Troop 1202, her daughter Rachel’s troop, guiding the girls from Kindergarten through Senior year of high school. At Priest Lake Presbyterian Church, Leesa held many roles over the past 30 years, ranging from youth leader to elder. She oversaw kids programs, cooked countless meals for others and even painted walls. She always took pride in her roles and felt at peace at PLPC. Leesa always had an open door, and her home was the favorite hang out space for Matt and his friends in high school. She kept the boys stocked on snacks and a listening ear when needed. The role she took the most pride in was the role of Nana. She loved her grandsons immensely and loved being their Nana. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 16th from 10:30am until service time at 12:00 pm at Priest Lake Presbyterian Church (2787 Smith Springs Road). A private internment will follow at Dry Valley Cemetery at a later date. The service will be available online (https://www.facebook.com/PriestLakePresbyterianChurch/) for those who are unable to join in person. A private interment will follow at Dry Valley Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund at Priest Lake Presbyterian or to an animal rescue.
