Karen Marie Keith

Age 63, passed away on Saturday morning, January 16, 2010. Karen and her husband Collin have been together 39 good years, and have 3 daughters: Krista, Sarah, and Kelly who loved their mother deeply. At a time like this, there is a sorrow for which no heart could ever be prepared. It seems impossible that our hearts will mend. Karen was born in Cleveland to Chuck and Wilma Gable. She moved to southern California when she was 8, and lived there until 1992 when we moved to Old Hickory, TN where she made a loving home for our family for the last 17 years. Karen is survived by her mother Wilma, 92, whom Karen has cared for in our home the past 7 years, and the care will continue as she would have wished. Her brother Robert, 61, lives on a few wooded acres in Washington. Our daughter Krista has four children: "The Twins" 16 year olds Jarred and Jordan, Logan 8, and Mia 6. Krista lives nearby in Old Hickory. Sarah and her two daughters: Taylor 15 and Marissa 12, live in El Segundo, California. Kelly has two sons: Justin 8 and Nathan 7 who somehow survive the heat in Maricopa, near Phoenix, Arizona. Karen loved to laugh, and had an infectious twinkle in her eyes when she was having fun. She loved beauty in all it's forms; flowers, scenery, the sun and moon rising up over the lake behind our house. She loved the mountains, and deserts, and especially the ocean and the beach. She loved art and filled our house with it. She loved to decorate and had a marvelous sense of style. One of her greatest and most satisfying pleasures was to cook for gatherings of friends and family. She was the best cook I have ever known, and she loved to see people enjoying what she had prepared. She always tried to make people's days a little brighter, and usually succeeded. She always tried to make me happy, and always succeeded. We have had a good marriage and a good life together. I ache with sorrow that she is gone, but I thank God for every day that we spent building our lives together, and all of the joys we shared great and small. Karen was my wife, a loving mother to her children and grandchildren, the best part of my life, and the finest person I've ever known. She loved deeply and will be missed with the same measure of affection with which she lived. She had a deep unwavering trust in God, and brought me to the place where I could truly believe in God and His Word.. She's in Gods hands now. Karen Keith; awaiting the return.
