Joseph Dean Lawson, August 15, 1957-January 2, 2013. He left this world on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Hendersonville Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Alexander (Buck) Lawson. Dean left behind a loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Marilyn Rediker Lawson; two loving daughters, Kelly Muncey (Ronnie) of Ashland City, TN, and Stephanie Lawson (Chris Holt) of Goodlettsville, TN; one beautiful granddaughter, Kelly Michelle "Princess" Lawson of Goodlettsville, TN; five handsome grandsons, William Dean "Bam Bam" Muncey, Oppie Eugene "Sweet Pea" Muncey, Charles Wallace "Taz" Muncey, Ronnie Eugene "Meathead" Lawson, and Timothy Joseph "Early Bird" Lawson; two special adopted grandchildren, Kristafer Middleton Muncey of Pleasant View, TN, and Maggie Lynn Lambert of Ashland City, TN; two very dedicated brothers, Ronnie Lawson and Randy (Gail) Lawson and their families, Angie, April, Sebastian, Noah, Will, Ron and Demetria, Maverick, Duke, Maggie, Laila, Tara, Aiden, Kale, Crystal and William Steed, Preston, Raven, Ran, Heather, Haley, and Thomas; one loving sister, Patty Sain (Morgan) of Middleton, TN and her family, John, Racheal, Dannielle, Lexi, Tracey, Bill, Jonah, Arron, David, Penny, Alex, Chloe, Keyndal, Lucy and Corey Childress, Michael, Frank, Corey, Jr., Colbey, Amanda and Jeremy Oakley, and Tyler; three very special lifelong friends, Glenn Seagroves and Mike Vaden of White House, TN, Drew Bess of Inglewood, TN; one brother-in-law, James Gilley of Madison, TN; four sister-in-laws, Ruby Gilley of Joelton, TN, Gladys Norris of White House, TN, Marie Graves of Goodlettsville, TN, and Frances Housman of White House, TN; and a host of family and friends. Dean was a devoted husband, father, paw paw, brother, uncle, and friend. Dean was raised with his brothers and sister in Nashville, TN by his grandmother and his father, Buck. He attended Highland Heights Middle School. He later met the love of his life, Marilyn and shared a very blessed 33 years of marriage with her. Dean supported his family by working as a brick layer for 25 years until he went into business as a roofer for the next 11 years with his son-in-law, Ronnie Muncey. He loved his family and friends, having fun, and spending time with the ones he loved. Dean was outspoken and always said what was on his mind. He enjoyed playing softball with his friends and was a great pitcher and 2nd baseman. He was good with a pool stick and for several years competed in a league. Dean was an avid fisherman and could catch anything that swam. He shared this passion with his oldest grandson, William Dean, and taught him everything he knew. Dean loved to play horse shoes and was quite skilled at the game. If you ever found yourself in a tournament with him, he was definitely the one to draw as your partner. He was a dedicated Nascar fan and took many trips to Talladega, which was where he met his wife, Marilyn. Dean, Marilyn, and their friends made many memories there. Dean was always there for his family. We will keep his memory alive and carry him in our hearts each and every day, no matter where life may take us. We have been truly blessed and thankful for every second we spent with him. Dean will be deeply missed and forever loved. A celebration of Dean's life will be conducted Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Temple Baptist Church, 117 Marlin Rd. White House, TN 37188, at 11am.
