Woodrow Harvill Hooper, Jr., life-long resident of East Nashville, passed away October 12, 2020 after a short illness. He was born February 16, 1942 in East Nashville. Harvill was a proud graduate of Isaac Litton High School. After graduation he proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He was a sports enthusiast and all who knew him knew he was a huge fan of Vanderbilt Athletics. He also loved Shelby Park and visited the park daily, in fact, at times he referred to himself as the “Mayor of East Nashville”. Harvill was preceded in death by parents, Woodrow Harvill and Evelyn Campbell Hooper. He is survived by special cousin, Henry Hooper, and a host of other family and friends. Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Friday, October 16 in Spring Hill Cemetery with Pastor David Hannah of the Church at Lockeland Springs officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15 at Phillips Robinson Funeral Home.
