William Lee Cogdill (Wild Bill), 60 of Westmoreland passed away on March 24, 2021 after a short battle with Cancer. Born in Chicago Illinois on 11-14-60 and raised in Florida/Tennessee. He has a master degree in the school of life. In 1978 William met Theresa cruising Madison Square. They married in 1983 and went on to have three children, Angela (Daniel) Knalls, Kurtis (Stephanie) Cogdill, Shelby Lee. Five grandchildren, Brandon, Anthony, Addison, Austin, and Ainsley. An adoptive by choice daughter Kristian (Tim) Short and granddaughter Chloe. Bill was in the industry of construction and custom home remodeling for many years. Bill was long time member of the American Legion and an avid Tennessee Titans fan. He enjoyed tailgating with friends and family. He enjoyed family time and having a large cook outs for the Fourth of July. He loved smoking barbecue, horseback riding, camping, boating, and jet skiing. If Bill could not fix it nobody could. He was always there to help everyone in a time of need. Bill loved spending time with his man’s best friend Cavo. Bill was preceded in death by father’s Robert Lee Cogdill, Carl Rufus Boykin, mother Barbara Ann Cogdill, grandparents Ethel Lowe (JB)(Carl), Gordon (Lucille) Cogdill, Ruth (Jack) Boykin, Aunt Carla Lowe, Uncle David Lowe. Survived by loving wife of 38 years Theresa Castleberry Cogdill; brother Bob (Tracy) Cogdill, sisters Judy (Missy) Cogdill (Maurice), Brandy Boykin Tillery; nieces Linsay (Jack) McMahon, Michaela Hyde, Marley Hyde, Dakota Tillery; nephews BJ (Valerie) Cogdill, Brandon Cogdill, Robbie (Candie) Cogdill, Trey Hyde, Christopher Michael and Justin Castleberry, Trenton Tillery; great-niece, Serenity, and nephews, Edgar and Evan; aunts, Betty (Levoy) Cogdill, Judy Shaw (Mike)(John), Vicky Craig (Don), Jackie Repass (Ron)(Eddie); uncles, Jimmy (Debbie) Conner, Danny Lowe; many beloved 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cousins, and so so many special friends and extended family. Honorary Pallbearers: Dave Heflin, Ed Wallace, the Titans Tailgate Crew, Don Bozzelli, Jon Higdon, Jerimiah Lechert, James Shrum, Johnny Beasley, Greg Hale, and Kent Boyd. Special thanks to Lynette Mayes, Shelia Johnson, Madison Elks Lodge 2473 and Crystal (Tony) Birdwell. Bill will forever be in our hearts and truly missed. We mourn the loss of Bill and encourage any and all who knew him to remember the beauty he brought to this world. Visitation will be Saturday March 27th from 4pm to 8pm at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home in Nashville and Sunday March 28th at 1pm to 2pm. Services will be held at 2pm. Masks are required while in our facility. The family ask that in lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
