Susie Crum
August 14, 1930 - September 15, 2019
In memoriam for our mother, Sue Crum, who was called from this life on Sunday, September 15, 2019 after a series of illnesses. She was born on August 14, 1930, the daughter of Fillipo and Flora Paoletto. She had 8 brothers and sisters. Sue was formerly from Canton then Byesville and Cambridge, Ohio. She spent her last few years living in Hendersonville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L Crum and leaves behind 4 sons, Joe, Mike, Bob and Steve each with wives, Jennifer, Teresa, Jolene and Robin, respectively. Sue was fortunate enough to have 11 loving grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In the years of gathering at mom’s home for holidays and summer visits, the air would always be filled with children and adult laughter and scents from her kitchen. She loved cooking and caring for our dad and us. Some items from mom’s life worth mentioning include that she was a devoted woman of the Catholic faith. Her spiritual life was very important to her and she made sure to raise her sons in that faith. Mom was 2nd generation Italian and her cooking, singing, mannerisms, story-telling and personality all spoke of her Italian heritage. It’s one of the things that made her who she was and happily, one that she’s passed on to her children. Mom loved her friends and family. She had many friends at her parish of Holy Trinity Church in Byesville and then Christ our Light Church in Cambridge. She was loved and respected by members of the parish community and clergy. Italian festivals were her home away from home. She always looked forward to going to these festivals in Wheeling and Clarksburg, W Va. The food and music were the allure for her and they always served as a great venue for family get-togethers. Mom will be laid to rest in a mausoleum next to our father in Calvary Cemetery located in Massillon, Oh. on Saturday, 21 September at 1pm. Before that, a funeral mass will be held in Christ Our Light Parish in Cambridge at 8:30 am. We appreciate all the words of condolence given so far and hope you can attend one or both of her services. In closing, we want this to be a joyous time as we celebrate the life of a good, Christian woman who lived for her family. Because, as our song
