Richard Joseph Sanders, age 74 of Fayetteville, TN, formerly of Nashville, TN, passed away January 25, 2020. He was born August 1, 1945 in Nashville. Mr. Sanders, a longtime resident of Nashville before moving to Fayetteville, retired from Beaman Automotive Group where he managed the body shop. After retirement, he worked for Kroger in Shelbyville running the gas pumps. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, dove hunting, and playing cards with his family. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Grace and Herschel Harris; and sister, Patricia Brewer. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Sanders; children, Todd (Kelley) and Steven (Annie) Sanders; grandchildren, Stephanie, Joanna, and Hailey Sanders; mother-in-law, Jo McCloud; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Gilbert) Donaldson and Pat McCloud. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M., Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tony Billions officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
