Ray "Hoss" Fuller was born in Nashville, TN May 30, 1924, and passed away peacefully on April 24, 2021 at the age of 96. Preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Anita Fuller. Survived by his daughter, Jackie Fuller (Steve) Hough; 2 sons, Ron Fuller and Kevin Fuller; grandson, Lee Fuller. After he graduated from Hume Fogg High School, Ray enlisted in the US Army. He honorably served in WWII from June 1943 through November 1945, fighting in numerous battles throughout Europe, including the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. Ray worked at Nashville Electric Service for 30 years, then Metro Government as a Warrant Officer for 28 years. Ray was a proud member of Tennessee State Scholastic Athletic Association (TSSAA) refereeing over 7,500 games of high school football, basketball, baseball, and softball, as well as coaching. He was inducted into the TSSAA Hall of Fame, as well as MTFOA and College Hall of Fame. The MTFOA has sponsored a scholarship for three high school players each year in Ray’s name, the Ray “Hoss” Fuller Scholarship. Ray was bestowed the State of Tennessee’s Colonel Aide de Camp award for outstanding achievement. Ray impacted in a positive fashion everyone in his lifelong path. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at Bellevue United Methodist Church Monday, May 3, 2021 at 3pm. Seating is limited, social distancing and masks are required.
