Max Lavergne Abel

November 26, 1925 - January 31, 2022

Max Lavergne Abel, 96, of Old Hickory passed away Monday, January 31st. Max was born in Princeton, IL on November 26th, 1925. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Abel. Surviving family members include James K. Sharp, Jr., Daryl and Linda Sharp, Cory and Rachel Sharp, and Fisher Sharp, Jonathan and Amy Hansen, Rhett Hansen, Emmy Hansen, and Mittchell and Josephine Hansen. Max spent 26 years in the US Army, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He retired as a Master Sergeant. Visitation will be held at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home-Hadley Chapel in Old Hickory, TN on Wednesday, February 2nd from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 3rd at 9am at Hadley Chapel, with burial at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at 11am.
