Charles "Ray" Doolittle

March 26, 1947 - March 29, 2021

Charles "Ray" Doolittle, age 74, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March, 29, 2021. He was born March, 26, 1947 in Gastonia, N.C. to Rhett and Lillian Doolittle. He was a graduate of Lincolnton High School (N.C.) and Nashville Auto Diesel College. Nashville is where he met and married Barbara Jo Miller-Doolittle. They were married 52 years. Ray was a simple, humble, and hard working man who could fix just about anything. He put his skills to work, at then Maynard Fixturecraft, for more than 20 years. He went to work for Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA) where he retired in 2019. He had an undeniable love for God, his family, the New York Yankees, and the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Valerie; daughter and son-in-law, Michael and Carla; brothers, Fred and Bobby; sister, Betty Jo Doolittle-Toney; grandchildren, Lauren, Claire, Devin, Jordan, Ava, and Braxton; great-grandchildren, Livvie, Emerie, Averie, Beau, and Harmoni. He loved people and touched so many lives with his wit and sense of humor. He will truly be missed. We love you Pops. Arrangements for his ceremony are to be announced at a later date.
