Alice Ruth Chapman Price, 94, resident of East Pavilion, Franklin, VA for the past two years died Monday, November 9, 2015. A resident of Nashville, TN; she had lived in VA for the past six years under her daughter's care. Born in Giles County, TN, she was the daughter of (father) Clifford Chapman and (step-mother) Mattie Chapman, (mother) Virgie Grammer Chapman Gay and (step-father), Robert Gay. Predeceased by father and mother; husband, William E. Price, Jr.; infant son, Robert Wayne Price; brothers, Howard Chapman, Bernard Chapman and Dr. Charles Chapman; sisters, Allene Chapman Osment and Betty Chapman Roberts. She is survived by daughter, Debra Allene Price Clarke (Dennis); grandchildren, Sandra Faye Clarke Lindsey (Pryor), William Timothy Clarke (Christen), Jennifer Gwyn Clarke; great-grandchildren, Isabel Lindsey, Shea Lindsey, Dawson Clarke, Joe Clarke, Lauren Clarke, step-grandchild, Savannah Lindsey; and her brother, Marion Chapman (Pat). She was a faithful Christian of the Church of Christ until her health in later years prevented her from attending. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 14, 2015 in the chapel of Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, Nashville, TN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Ronnie Webb is officiating and interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
