James Charles Iler, Jr., age 80, passed away January 10, 2018. Jim volunteered for the Fire Department in Newark, OH, volunteered as an umpire for the Licking Valley High Shcool and the Little league team, and was also a Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts of America. He served in the US Airforce for 21 years. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Freda Iler; beloved mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bonnie and Glyn Taylor; brother, Fred Iler; sisters, Pat Cable and Dee Rector. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy Iler; sons, James Iler, III, Eric Iler (Kelly), and Jeffrey Iler (Amidy); grandchildren, Gavin, Megan, Declan, J.C., Jennifer, Kara, and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan, Haley, and Miles; brothers, Trophy Iler and Harry Iler; special niece, Justine Carol. Visitation at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home Tuesday from 6-8pm. Graveside services will be conducted by Reverend Rosemary Brown of Monroe Street UMC, on Wednesday at 1pm at Middle-TN State Veterans Cemetery. Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Rd.
